One day ago, a person called to discuss with me his license suspension. His two DUI cases were over and he had a 3 year Statutory Summary Suspension hold on his license. He already called his prior attorney about trying to remove the 3 year suspension and his prior attorney could not help him. The caller also contacted the Secretary of State and they told him there was nothing he could do to reduce the suspension.
He called me and within 5 minutes of talking to him I determined that the suspension should be 1 year and not 3 years. I told him how he could correct it without an attorney and without having to pay me a penny. His specific problem was that on both DUI charges he received a Statutory Summary Suspension. The first Statutory Summary Suspension was rescinded, but neither his attorney nor the court ever took the necessary steps to remove the suspension from his driving record. This failure to notify the Secretary of State cost this guy $250.00 which he paid to end the first suspension.
The reason I bring this up is that when someone calls me to discuss his or her case I offer quality advise without expectation of being hired. No pressure.
