One of the conditions of bond is that you cannot leave the State of Illinois without the Court’s permission.
To get permission to leave the State of Illinois your attorney will ask the Court to allow you to travel out of state. Your attorney should present to the Judge the reason for your travel and the exact dates you will be out of the State of Illinois. The Court will consider travel for work more favorably than travel for pleasure. If the travel is for a vacation, as an attorney, I would inform the Judge that the trip was planned and paid for before the arrest (bond) occurred, (provided it actually was).
If you plan to travel before your first court date, the case can be “advanced” (brought to court early) so you can ask for permission.
Today I obtained permission for a client to travel to Montana to go skiing for a week. The Court allowed him to travel but only with the condition that he agreed not to consume any alcohol while on his trip. If my client was going on a business trip, the Court probably would not have limited his alcohol consumption.
